Just a few minutes north of Tyros lies Paralia Tigani – a beach that at first glance combines everything that makes a Greek summer day so special: clear water, light pebbles, green slopes in the background and that calm, almost unhurried atmosphere often found only in smaller coastal towns.
The bay nestles gently between the rocky outcrops of the Arcadian coast. Olive trees, pine trees and the mountains of the Peloponnese frame the beach, while the sea shimmers in vivid turquoise, deep blue and silvery sparkle depending on the light. Tigani is not an endless sandy beach, but a manageable, natural pebble bay – well kept, easy to reach and at the same time more original than many large tourist beaches.

The clear water and rocky areas are very well suited for snorkeling.
If you want to use sun loungers, they are often available with a minimum consumption.
Parking spaces and good spots on the beach are available, but can fill up quickly in the afternoon during high season.
Natural shade is limited. Be sure to think about sunscreen – especially if you are not lying under an umbrella.
Porto Fino Beach Bar
Right on the beach is the Porto Fino Beach Bar, which makes Tigani a comfortable destination for a full day by the water. Here you can get coffee, cold drinks, cocktails and light meals such as snacks, salads, pasta dishes or fruit platters – ideal if you want to do more than just swim briefly and spend several hours by the sea.
The atmosphere is relaxed and uncomplicated. Instead of a loud club vibe, you can expect a classic Greek beach bar feeling: music in the background, shade under the umbrellas, a cold Freddo Espresso on the table and only a few steps to the water.
The sun loungers and umbrellas are available with a minimum spend, meaning a coffee, water or snack instead of a fixed lounger fee.
The available facilities are also practical: showers, toilets and changing rooms make the beach especially pleasant if you are traveling with children or want to combine your visit with an excursion in the area.
Snorkeling, fish and clear water
Tigani is a wonderful beach for anyone who likes to get into the water with a mask and snorkel. Thanks to the pebble bottom, the sea often remains very clear, and especially in the rockier areas you can observe countless small fish. If you swim slowly along the coast, you will keep discovering new shades in the water, light stones on the seabed and rock formations that make you feel as if you are flying.
A special nearby destination is the so-called Lovers Cave or Fournaka Cave. It lies on the rocky side of the bay and can – depending on fitness and weather – be reached by swimming, by canoe or by pedal boat. Especially on calm days, the trip there is a little adventure: the water gets deeper, the rocks draw closer and suddenly a sheltered, almost hidden corner of the coast opens up. A dream!
Sun loungers, beach towel and free spots
Tigani is partly organized, but it also leaves room for anyone who prefers to lie by the sea on their own towel. Outside the rows of loungers, you can find free sections, especially at the edge of the bay or a little farther from the beach bar.
If you want to stay for a whole day, the loungers will of course keep you comfortable. But if you only want to swim briefly, you can also come easily with a beach towel, bag and snorkel mask. Since natural shade on the beach is limited, an umbrella or at least a spot at the edge is recommended if you do not want to use an organized lounger.
The combination of beach bar, clear bay and open beach areas makes Tigani pleasantly flexible: relaxed enough for a quiet day by the water, well equipped enough for families and at the same time interesting for anyone who does not just want to lie around, but also swim, snorkel or explore the small cave.

Paralia Tigani is not a secret, completely untouched beach – and that is exactly what makes it so pleasant. It offers enough comfort without losing its natural beauty. The clear water, the light pebbles, the green slopes and the relaxed beach bar create an atmosphere in which you quickly stay longer than planned.
Whether for a few hours in the morning, a family beach day or a relaxed afternoon with a snorkel mask and cold coffee: Tigani is one of those places that do not need to impress loudly. They stay in your memory because they feel easy – like a simple, beautiful summer day by the sea.
